My biggest technology concern with ipads and ipods is implementing them into centers. I would really love to know how kindergarten teachers use ipads and ipod touches in their centers? Is there any other technology in centers that you use? How do you rotate them around so every child is able to use them? What games or activities are WONDERFUL for kindergarten. What learning games have you found that work? What games don't work?
I know this week we have been introduced to several games but if you have any other ideas for kindergarten I would love to know. I know that I have to bring in more technology. Coming to INTERACT will provide me the means to put these gadgets in my students hands. I want to make sure that I utilize the ipads and ipods to their full worth. Technology Reflection of my last school year
INTERACT has provided me so many different ideas to make my classroom so much more successful and engaging next year. As a kindergarten teacher, it is very difficult to keep the students interested for long periods of time. Bringing more technology into the classroom and into their hands would make them a active participant in their learning. I can already picture ipods and ipads making my centers more differentiated and more engaging.
Looking back at last year, I didn't feel like my lesson plans or activities caused the kids not to gain the knowledge that they needed. What I did see was that I wasn't providing enough technology in my lessons to make them more fun and entertaining. I could have brought in more technology to help me teach ELA, science or math. I feel like I make excuses on why I don't use technology instead of seeking out ways to incorporate it or finding people to help me. I did attempt "papermation" this year for the 4 seasons and the kids LOVED it.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I know I am a great teacher...I want to be a AWESOME teacher. I want the students to experiment and grow. I want my lessons to be fun and interactive and next year they will be!!

Interact 2011
OVERLOAD!!! My mind is so overloaded!! I have learned so much at INTERACT the past 2days that it is hard to remember everything. Alot of the stuff that we have learned will be very helpful to use in my own classroom though. Last year, I tried to tie in technology as much as possible but it is very hard when your school is short on resources and you don't feel comfortable using technology because of the FEAR of the unknown.
This year, I am hoping to bring in alot of the stuff we learned-wikis, moviemaker live, and Edmodo-to name a few. Alot of the items we have learned the last few days will be so valuable to make my classroom a success:)
